St Gervais offers a weekly market on Thursdays that fills the whole square with local stalls, from honeys and cured meats to handmade woolly hats and scarves. From potent cheeses to local turned wood furnishings and homeware.
There are, of course plenty of oppurtunities to pick up a great postcard, but its the little local shops that dominate. Locally made kitchenware, Savoyard furniture and more dried meat and delicious cheese than you can shake a stick at!
If, however, you are all about the designer labels and matching pricetags, then Megeve is a must visit, our neighbouring resort is home to some of the very richest clientele in the world, and the shops reflect this, so for Louis Vuitton or Chanel, head this way.
